<\/p>With Covid-19 restricting the options for escaping abroad, I decided to do the next best thing by riding my electric scooter around Anglesey between lockdowns.\n

I loaded my Segway Ninebot Max G30<\/strong> into the campervan to check out how it would cope with some serious miles out in the country. Anglesey has many miles of stunning coastline, which is accessible via the Wales coastal path. The Anglesey stretch is over 130 miles long, and my plan was to do stretches of it and stay in the campervan overnight.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how I got on riding my electric scooter around Anglesey:<\/p>\n

Treaddur Bay\/South Stack<\/h4>\n

I parked the van in Treaddur and took a longer scoot up to south stack. This takes in a twisty but beautiful section of coast road, some narrower lanes, and a drag up a steep section to the RSPB caf\u00e9. The scooter coped without any problem.<\/p>\n

\"Riding<\/p>\n

I then took it up to the signal station along a stony track, this was trickier and only possible at a much slower speed, roughly equivalent to jogging.<\/p>\n

\"Riding<\/p>\n

On return I went to the range \u2013 a coastal promontory with wild heather moorland and a muddy trail out to the cliffs. There was the odd small skid in the muddier sections, but I stayed on without a problem and went through a few puddles without incident.<\/p>\n

\"Riding<\/p>\n

The Max is not rated as waterproof, and the manual even suggests not going out in the rain at all, so consider one of the new waterproof models if you are going to be out in poor weather. I took the time to clean and dry it when I got back to the van.<\/p>\n

Porth Trecastle\/Rhosneigr<\/h4>\n

I had to carry my scooter across a sandy section, but I had no problems scooting up the coastal path afterwards. There were plenty of stones on the path, but no water and no problems.<\/p>\n

Newborough\/Maltraeth<\/h4>\n

I stopped to ask a couple out birdwatching to take this picture. They were incredibly interested in the scooter. It was a beautiful morning, perfect scooting weather, and I enjoyed the grand tarmac causeway from Newborough.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ok, so I cheated a bit by staying in Rhosneigr and doing some of my favourite stretches this time. But now the scooter has proved itself on the coastal path. With fairer weather and more time, I\u2018ll be back to take on the whole thing again soon.<\/p>\n
