Scooting in Scotland

We took our e-scooters with us on holiday to Scotland last week, because when your motorhome is the width of a coach (and you’ve a nervous wife!) there’s always going to be places of interest that are out of reach down tiny back roads. But not if you have e-scooters.

We were able to recharge them direct from the motorhome whenever we needed to, as all the campsites had electric hookups and the motorhome has a standard plug point outside.

Scotland has a great network of cycle paths, we left the motorhome on site at  Achindarroch, and used the Sustrans path which runs from Oban to Fort William. The path was virtually empty, with fantastic views across the mountains and lochs.

In hindsight we could also have taken them on the foot ferry to Kerrera Island, as when we got there we found the paths were dry and wide. We ended up walking 8 miles that afternoon, but well worth the effort to get the iconic Gylen castle to ourselves.

Plenty of positive comments when we used them to move around within the campsites, and one of the campsite owners decided to buy one for himself!
